Seeing spots (outfit #30)

This darling, 1950s polkadot dress was thrifted.  My jade and pearl clip-on earrings and matching apple pin belonged to my late grandmother.  Polkadots were such an iconic trend in the 50s, and they are just as flirty and fun today.  I think green is such a flattering color on red heads, don't you agree?

  1. Agree! Green is just the perfect colour for us fair skinned red headed girls and that dress is just divine (envy).

  2. Me again...it's probably terribly rude of me to ask, but is your hair coloured? It is so hard to find a good orange/coppery red in Australia that i have taken to begging everyone with beautiful hair for their colour details and importing stuff in to try. Your hair is pretty much the colour mine was when I was a little girl - but then around 12 I started to become more of a brunette and I have been dying it ever since. Hopefully I haven't offended you as you have absolutely stunning hair!

    1. Yes, it's true, I was born a blonde! I've been coloring my hair red since I was about 19 (after I had a dream I was a redhead). Most of my ancestry is Irish, and I have the right coloring to pull it off. I honestly have a hard time finding red hair color too, since we moved to Southern Colorado. It seems like whenever I find a color I love, the store stops carrying it, so I'm not loyal to any brand. I always go for more of the coppery blondes, and make sure and always use hair products designed for colored hair. One of my tricks to keeping my hair from getting dried out, is never blow drying! It's a bit of a pain since my hair is really thick, but it does help keep it nice and healthy.

  3. You look so wonderfully pretty! I completely agree that many shades of green (as well as aqua, turquoise, and teal) look resplendent on redheads, as this beautiful vintage polka dot dress definitely proves.
