Manitou Springs Penny Arcade

This Labor Day weekend, we tried to take advantage of all our favorite summer activities that were winding down for the season.  We saw a movie at the drive-in theater, went swimming at the pool, and headed up to the Manitou Springs' Penny Arcade.  The arcade is one of my favorite places in Colorado, and I love sharing it with my own children.  The arcade is filled with antique pinball machines, skeeball, derby races, peepshows, 1950s Love Testers, photo booths, and plenty of automated fortune tellers to keep us entertained all day.   A lot of the really old games cost between a penny and a dime, hence the name "Penny Arcade."  You can also buy fresh salt water taffy, cotton candy, and chocolate truffles.

  1. Lovely dress, fits you perfectly:) How fun to go to a drive-in and I bet it brings back memories of your own taking the filmstrips from the photo booths:) I remember doing these as a kid but have no idea what happened to them.

  4. What a pretty dress! I adore that novelty print. Ones involving jars and other similar items have always jumped out at me big time. I really debated buying a pink, orange and cream 50s dress in a similar pattern at a shop in Vancouver this past June, but the price tag was just too unreasonable, IMO, so I passed, but I do think about that dress sometimes and wonder, if I lived in Van and had gone into the shop again later, would it have still been there and perhaps marked down at some point. Who knows?
